Spring Clean-Up is May 18
• Davis Disposal will take most items that can be reasonably handled by two people.
• Items should be boxed or bagged, if possible
• Limbs and green waste are to be bagged or bundled, not to exceed 4 feet in length or weight of 25 lbs.
• No free liquids such as paints, solvents, fuels, or any other material deemed hazardous
• No tires
• Each house is limited to 4 cubic yards of material placed at the curb
• Please set material in a neat manner at the curb, grouping like material together.
• Residents have requested assistance with removal of downed limbs and trees from the winter storms experienced in our area. Please note that these items are allowable during this spring cleanup but they must adhere to the regulations as stated above.
Many noticeable improvements have been made to multiple properties in town over the past year or so.

· Please be aware that spring and summer will highlight enforcement of ordinances pertaining to grass, shrubs, junk, debris, chickens, and dogs. Chickens are NOT allowed and dogs are NOT to run loose. Junkyards are NOT permitted within residential areas. Please abide by ordinances.
· Please refrain from blowing grass clippings in the road. Per Virginia law, this is illegal.
· Please be mindful of children who will be outside playing, riding bicycles, and roller skating.
· The new playground equipment installed last year at the Town Hall is being utilized. Please follow the playground rules as posted.
· The Town is partnering with the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office for routine patrols to help enforce speed limits and monitor safety.
· If you burn trash or have bonfires, please remember safety first and adhere to all burning regulations as well as be considerate of neighbors. Some burn piles in town have been noted to be excessive &/or toxic with foul smoke.
· Reports can made by calling 757-787-0911 for a non-emergency or 911 for an emergency. Those planning open burning should notify officials in advance at the non-emergency number.
· The Town Office has received complaints about chickens in town and properties with excessive junk, debris, and overgrowth. Complaints are handled on a case-by-case basis and in accordance with town ordinances.
